Community Outreach

Community Outreach Program

The Superior Court of California, County of Napa has established an on-going effort to improve its community outreach.  The program includes surveys, focus groups and community input into the Court's strategic plan.  Through these efforts, the Court seeks to increase public trust and confidence in the judicial system.

Courthouse Tours

A courthouse tour would likely include visiting various areas within the Napa County Historic Courthouse, the east portion of which was completed in 1879, such as: The Tisher Hall jury assembly area, one of two historic courtrooms (Courtroom B includes a pictorial of past and present county judges), the County’s Law Library, and the Hall of History pictorial on the main level. This building houses the court’s civil and family divisions, as well as associated courtrooms, plus self-help and mediation services, various administrative divisions, and the court’s executive office.

The Criminal Courthouse was dedicated in March 1999 and houses the Criminal and Traffic Division and six associated courtrooms. This is our busiest facility, by far, by number of hearings and foot traffic. As availability allows, a tour of this building might include visiting a courtroom, a jury deliberation room, a judge’s chambers, bailiff’s security center, and the jail command center/prisoner passage tunnel.

When court schedules allow, group tours may be highlighted by conversations with a judge, bailiff, and courtroom staff.

Group tours of the Napa County Superior Courthouses are available by making reservations through the Court Executive Office at (707) 299-1110.
