Unified Family Court

The Napa Unified Family Court program is a project funded by the California Judicial Council and works to improve the way a court manages cases involving children and families.   The goals of the project are designed to assist the families as well as the judicial officers who hear their cases.

Families are assisted in the following ways:

  • Reduces possibility of conflicting court orders
  • Assists families without attorneys
  • Helps families seeking guardianship of a child
  • Quickly gets families information about helpful community services

Judicial Officers and the Court benefit in the following ways:

  • Judges are better informed about families’ existing court cases
  • Reduces courtroom time and paper volume Coordinates family court records
  • When families do not have an attorney to represent them in the courtroom, the program allows judges to better respond to the needs of a case
