The Napa County Superior Court Tentative Ruling System is intended
to improve service to court customers, reduce the cost of litigation
as well as reduce the number of required court appearances.
Tentative Rulings are posted daily by 3:00 p.m. for the next day's hearings. If a party wishes to present oral argument at the hearing, the party or counsel must so notify all opposing parties or counsel by 4:00 p.m. on the court day before the scheduled hearing; notice to the court is not required. On the day of the hearing, the motion will be called and, if due notice of oral argument was given to all necessary parties, the court will entertain oral argument. If no party has requested oral argument, appearances are not required and the tentative ruling will be adopted as the ruling of the court.
If a tentative ruling is not listed for your motion, the motion will
be called and heard on the scheduled hearing day.
Information on tentative rulings is also available by phone at (707)
299-1270.
